AI Cart & Upsell (“the App”) provides AI-driven product recommendations and upsell features to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.

Personal Information the App Collects

• Read_Products: This includes products and collections. We need this permission to sync product and collection data between your Shopify store and our app to provide AI-driven recommendations and upsell features.
• Read_Orders: This permission includes full details of placed orders. We need this permission to analyze order data and support the AI recommendation engine. Note that customer personal information in orders is opted out during our processing process, and no store customers’ personal data is stored in our app.

Additionally, we collect the following types of personal information from you and/or your customers once you have installed the App:

• Information about you and others who may access the App on behalf of your store, limited to your email address (encrypted in our database).
• Information about individuals who visit your store, such as their web browser details, time zone, and date/time stamps on the particular device.

We collect personal information directly from the relevant individual, through your Shopify account.

We do not save or store IP addresses.

How Do We Use Your Personal Information?

We use the personal information we collect from you and your customers in order to provide the Service and to operate the App. Additionally, we use this personal information to:

• Communicate with you;
• Optimize or improve the App;
• Provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

Sharing Your Personal Information

We do not and will never share, disclose, sell, rent, or otherwise provide personal information to other third parties or companies (other than to specific Shopify merchants you are interacting with, or to third-party apps or service providers being used by the merchants you are interacting with) for the marketing of their own products or services.

However, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful requests for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Your Rights

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access your personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident, we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example, if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

Data Retention

Our retention practices are:

• For the store owner, data is stored in our app databases and is kept as long as the store owner continues using the app. When the store owner uninstalls the app, the data is deleted.
• For order data, all personal information is deleted as soon as the app processes the order data; no personal information is retained.
• For application logs, data is collected for application analyzing, monitoring, and security purposes, and is kept for 3 months.

We do not save or store IP addresses.

Changes

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
